Integrating fuzzy-MCDM methods to select project portfolios under uncertainty: the case of a pharmaceutical company

Goal: The present work aims to improve the project portfolio selection processes under uncertainty of pharmaceutical companies by integrating two Multicriteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods in a fuzzy environment: AHP and VIKOR methods. Design / Methodology Approach: We employed normative axiomatic modeling as methodology for our work. MCDM are subjective representing decision-makers preferences assisting process. Thus, model is founded on fuzzy-AHP fuzzy-VIKOR methods; first one determines importance company's strategy second elaborating ranking. validated this Brazilian subsidiary biggest enterprises worldwide. Results: developed considers evaluators' scores' indecision, enhancing process optimizing its decision-making. Limitations investigation: proposed method does not verify correlation, interdependence, or cannibalization between criteria projects, which common limitations approaches. In addition, resource constraints considered scheduling routines. Practical implications: market heated increase life expectancy, greater access medications, most recurrent disease outbreaks, resulting competitiveness, increasing need seek strategic projects efficiency.
